TAS 26: Bird lovers special
13 Days /12 Nights Nairobi- Mount Kenya
Day 1:- Depart Nairobi for Mt. Kenya on the scenic slopes of Mt Kenya, Second highest mountain in Africa.
- Birds in abundance in the dense tropical forest and rich fauna.
- Budget and luxury accommodation around Mt. Kenya region.

- Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: - Mountain Lodge- Lake Nakuru National Park
- After breakfast, early morning drive to Nyahururu falls, and down the highland slopes to Lake Nakuru National Park.
- The Lake is world famous as its home to thousands of pink flamingoes due to large qualities of algae in the lake. This is a gazetted protected colony of flamingoes as well as provides sanctuary for such endangered species on the black and white Rhino. Also present is the Rothschild giraffe.
- All meals at hotel in Nakuru/ Lodge/ Campsite
- Lake Nakuru – Lake Baringo
Day 3:- After breakfast depart for Lake Baringo
- Fresh water Lake. Main attraction here is birdlife in abundance and great variety.
- Out of Kenya’s 1200 species of birds, 450 are be found in Lake Baringo alone.

- Whole day in Lake Baringo
- Dinner and overnight
Day 4:- Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria
- After breakfast, drive to Lake Bogoria, 30 kilometers South of Baringo.
- Flamingoes are known to migrate to other Rift Valley Lakes. Here Flamingoes migrating from Lake Nakuru is a wonderful migration pattern to watch.
- It happens particularly when the water level of any other the Lakes goes down.
- In Lake Bogoria, there other 150 species of birds recorded. Fish Eagle is a predominant variety.
- Birds walks and hired boat rides along the lakeshore are highly recommended.
- Dinner and overnight at camp lodge.
Day 5:- Lake Baringo – Kerio Valley
- After breakfast start safaris to Kerio Valley. Pass through breathtaking picturesque beauty of Kerio valley on to “Kweisos” in Koru.
- This is a private estate of 3,000 acres where there is wonderful atmosphere of bird watching.
- Dinner overnight at Kweisos house.
Day6:- Koru – Kakamega Forest
- After breakfast, depart for Kakamega forest.
- An Equatorial rain forest, a haven for over 350 species of birds.
- Home to 45% of recorded butterflies in Kenya.
- All meals and overnight in hotel in Kakamega town.
Day 7:- Kakamega – Lake Victoria
- Morning breakfast, and then depart for Lake Victoria.
- Abundant bird life and a boat ride along the shoreline.
- Dinner and overnight in hotel in Kisumu town.
Day 8:- Kisumu – Maasai Mara
- After breakfast depart for Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary as well as rich birdlife game reserve.
- The game reserve has a birdlife close to 450 species and 52 odd species of birds.
